ABOUT OUR COMPANY

Michael McGeough, founder and owner of Mac Two Engineering Ltd started out as a tool maker with Cambridge Instruments. One of his achievements whilst working there was the opportunity to work on the first electron microscope.

Michael completed his engineering training at Cambridge Instruments, then moved to Match box the toy die cast manufacture. There he made toy moulds for miniature cars. The cars now of course have become collectables around the world. Michael gained further experience in the design and the manufacturing industry whilst tooling for the Ford Motor Company in developing and making specialist tools.

COMPANY HISTORY

In the beginning, Michael McGeough started out by making wooden and plastic roller speed skate wheels for the international market. This was his passion and chosen sport, competing and winning internationally. The development of skating wheels was undertaken as there was seen to be a ready market. So successful was the product range that it quickly became accepted as the best in the world. This unique product 'Inline' skates (Roller blades) was only manufactured in the UK, and successfully marketed and sold throughout the world.

Later Mike moved onto designing special purpose machines for the double glazing industry and gained over 14 years experience. Later Mac Two expertise was required to focus on the retail market. Mike's design and engineering skills were engaged to develop and manufacture high security cash drawers. This solution has now been in full production for the last 5 years with year on year growth.

To complement the cash drawer solution for retail clients, Mac Two has also designed and manufactured point of sale poles and peripheral holders for checkouts and sales counters. These products, completely bespoke with customer paint finishes are again still in production today for various clients.
